A
21-year-old Nigerian woman, Aisha Ajibola, emerged the winner of a
beauty pageant that is exclusively for Muslims in Jakarta, capital of
Indonesia, on Wednesday.
She was chosen among 20 contestants from
six countries to wear the crown in the 2013 Muslimah World beauty
pageant, ahead of the controversial Miss World event scheduled to take
place in the same country in a few weeks from now.
According to a report monitored online,
all the 20 finalists in the contest were covered from head to toe during
the event. They were required to wear headscarves, stroll up and down
and do a catwalk in elaborately embroidered dresses and stilettos before
an audience comprising religious scholars and other devout Muslims. panel of judges chose the winner on
the basis of how well she recited Quranic verses and her views on Islam
in the modern world.

Can anyone explain where this type of walk exist in the QURAN OR THE SUNNAH of the prophet???

A group, Muslim Rights Concern has congratulated the 21-year-old
Nigerian, Aisha Ajibola, who emerged as the winner of a beauty pageant
organised for Muslims in Indonesia, on Wednesday.

Ajibola, a student of University of Lagos, defeated 19 other
finalists to emerge winner of the beauty pageant and was given 25
million rupiah ($2,200) as well as trips to Makkah and India.

Director of MURIC, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, in a statement on Thursday,
said: “We congratulate Sister Ajibola of t UNILAG for emerging
the winner of the world Muslimah contest. The contest underscores the
fact that opposition to any provocative beauty pageant anywhere in the
world can be expressed in a non-violent manner.
THOUGH HE ADDED
“MURIC once again affirms its opposition to beauty contests where
the female contestants are scantily, indecently and provocatively
dressed as promoting pornography, indecency, crime and immoral
behaviour. The outcome of the event adds another feather not only to
Nigeria's cap but that of the African continent as a whole.”

Verily, your reward is with Allah. By Allah, i was talking about this thing with an indonesia friend after she told me about it. I said;
Model: I can't say if you are a model or not, thats why i asked you. You may be since you are a complete lady and not obessed but i don't like it cos they will display all of you which is not proper for a woman in islam. You may attract men. Unless the media will not be allowed. Just wondering why you love beauty pageant so much *her name*?
Was that a good reply? I didn't actually know i'm still coming to read this blog note. They organized it for show off, competition with other beauty pageats and personal gain to the contestants.
