DO YOU KNOW THE REASON WHY YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO CRY WHENEVER YOU READ THE QUR'AN?

It is one of the characteristics of believers to cry whenever reciting the Qur'an or whenever it is being recited to them. Allah describe this, saying:  

"When they hear what was revealed to the messenger, you see their eyes flooding with tears as they recognize the truth therein, and they say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so count us among the witnesses." 5:83.

Many have tried as much as they could to cry when reciting the Qur'an but couldn't. This post is aimed at addressing this issue and suggesting possible ways to achieve one of the great characteristics of the believers mentioned in the verse above.

Do you know why you find it difficult to cry whenever you read the Qur'an? i am sure you don't know. But insha Allah, by the end of this post, you would have grabbed the reason and would have learnt the solution.

Here is a short story and you'll know ...

It was narrated that Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, may Allah be pleased with him, heard that one of his students wakes up every night and completes the whole Qur'an before dawn. Then he would Pray the dawn prayer.

The Imam wanted to teach him how to ponder over the Qur'an and he said: 

I heard you're doing such and such.

He said:

Yes, o imam

The Imam told him:

So, go now and wake up at night as you used to do, but read the Qur'an as if i am watching you. then report to me tomorrow.

The student came to him the next day and the Imam asked him. He replied: 

I could hardly read ten Parts.

The Imam said to him: 

So go today and read the Qur'an as if you read to the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him 

So he went and then came forward the next day.  HE said:

I could not complete juzu Amma (the thirtieth part)

Imam said to him: 

So go today and read the Qur'an as if you read to God Almighty

He then went the next day disappointed

The Imam asked him: 

How did it Went oh my son? The student replied in tears:  

By Allah, i did not finish Suratul Faatiha throughout the night.

From this short story, i believe u now know. 

The Qur'an is the word of God to us .. Read the words of God with your heart but not with your tongue.
