WHAT SHOULD I SAY DURING IT?

IN the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, the night of power is sought. this night is better than a thousand month. On that night, every matter of significance are made plain and distinct; new values and standards are established; the fortunes of nature are determined; and values and standards are sifted.

It's a great day indeed but no one knows the actual day in which  the night of power falls for that is left for the creator to decide.

The prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him taught his followers what is to be said in these nights as it is a guidance from the creator of the heavens and the earths. The Qur'an describes the prophet as:

He (the prophet) speaks not of his heart desires.Q53:3

If that is the case, Aishat, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I asked the Messenger of Allah: 'O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr (Power), what should I say during it?' He (The Prophet PBUH) said: SAY:

اللْهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

  O Allah, verily, You are pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.' (Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi).

Imam Ibn Katheer said it is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

this is to be repeated as many times as possible for there is no limitation to the number of times it should be recited.
